Do you have a manuscript that you've always thought would be worthy of publication but don't know where to start?  Are you finding it hard to get your foot in the door with an agent?  Have the major publishing companies told you that they are only publishing books from established authors?

Every author needs to start somewhere.  In these tough economic times most publishers are only willing to consider already published authors with guaranteed market appeal or high profile celebrities.  Many agents aren't willing to risk their time on unproven authors either.  Unfortunately, when faced with these difficulties many potential authors turn to Vanity Presses.  Yes they get published but only after paying the vanity press to edit, proofread, and publish the book.  Even worse, the author usually has to buy the entire print run themselves and then act as their own publicist and distributor.  For the vast majority of authors, a vanity press turns out to be a tremendous waste of time and money.

CWS Press is not a vanity press but we're also not one of the big boys in the publishing industry.  We're mavericks looking to open up doors to first-time authors as well as those who feel the current revenue sharing between publisher and author is unfair.  We accept books based on our opinion of their value, regardless of the name recognition of the author.  We are happy to work with agents or with authors directly.  We provide the editing, proofreading, cover design, publishing and distribution of the book.  We'll even help the author with publicity.  What we don't do is charge our authors a single penny for any of those services.  We also don't usually provide a huge advance.  Instead, we offer much higher percentages of each sale to the author as a proper reward for their hard work.  In the long run this leads to greater income for our authors than the traditional system, especially for books with a long potential market window.
